| I'm new here and mostly new to photography. I have my first entry in Tools.......so we'll see. Right now I'm hanging in there around the middle. I'm already learning from the comments too. I think maybe people are kinder when they see a new name? :) |

| Oh, wait! You don't see a name in the posting phase of the challenge. Scratch that theory about kindness. Maybe my photo is ok then......in a non interesting sort of way. Sort of.. |

Ok, I will stick my neck out. I joined DPC on 07/07/03 and just a couple days later I was tinkering with my camera and trying some various extended night shots. I was shooting photos of the moon and walking into them to create a ghost shadow effect.
When I looked at the one photo and saw the meteor that passed over I was really surprised. So I did a level adjustment, cropped it slightly and did a small USM.
I was new to DPC and did not know how things really worked (Sucker). So I decided to enter it into the round challenge on 07/09/03 just to let everyone see it. I knew it would not get into the top but I just wanted to share it. My title of "Moon and Meteor" did not show and the comments I made were not allowed to be shown either :)
So needless to say my photograph took somewhat of a beating. I did get some high votes from those that knew what it was, but there were a few that did not have the slightest idea. But it was about what I expected for the quality and etc.
