found this ad listed through a private party. I am wondering if it will work with my camera as I cant find any info on this, and is it worth the money the person is asking? I havent seen it yet, but have called the person to find out when I can go look at it.

Nikon 500mm lens, F4 ED P, nice wildlife lens, clean, vg cond., comes w/carry case, call eves. after 5pm, asking $2900 firm.,

If it is this lens it's a very good price if the lens is in fine shape.

I think this one on ebay is the same and a few hundred less.

hi tammy! sounds like you may have found a good deal... BUT! - do you have a local camera dealer that you shop with & trust? Sometimes, having a 'hands on' inspection can really make a difference.

Will the present owner allow you to attach it to your camera?

Thank you all for your responses. I have decided to pass on this one for now, as I am not nearly fast enough to focus on my own for any sports or wildlife ventures. Anyone who wants this persons contact info I will be glad to pass on to you.
