Hi Im looking to take a few photos of a model in a few weeks, she is rather young and said she cant get anyone to come along as a chaperone. My wife will be at home but probably in the house ( I will be in the back shed ( sounds as nice as it is too :))

Should I set up a video recorder to cover my ass? (figuratively not literally)

Im guessing I need to tell her that its there, no reason not to thou.
Do I need to get her to sign off about the taping & how long would I need to keep the tape?

Any people out their with similar problems?

I'm not totally convinced that a video would help. How old is she?

She is 17, I thought the tape would 'prove' nothing nasty happend, Its not a nude shoot, but I want to be sure

It would prove nothing nasty happened in front of the camera, while it was on. It won't prove that nothing nasty happened while the camera was off or out o view.

so is it not worth it, should I just reschedule until she can bring someone? Or just run the risk?

Let's do some math...
Photo Shoot + 17 year old - Chaperone + out in the shed = trouble.
Add video camera = bigger trouble.

Have your wife present or see if you can get anyone to chaperone or shoot out in a public place.

My non-professional, ad hoc advice. :)

Probably not worth it. If it were me, I'd demand an adult accompany her. I won't shoot anyone under 18 w/o parental consent and an adult escort. It's just too easy now to get into trouble even if you did absolutely nothing. Even if you are proven innocent, one false charge can ruin your life.

Your right, I know your right, Im just keen to get some shoots under my belt and in my portfolio. Its just a TFP shoot so I'll put her off till we can find someone to come with her.
