I think all the troll votes/ghost accounts are retaliations from users of other websites where people have stolen photos and the DPC mob has gone over there and bombarded the users with comments of thievery. The war is on my friends! :P
Sorry for the threadjack, I know you guys were making serious headway in this debate...

Good.

Then I command all you DNMC police to stop what you are doing and listen to me.

Stay out of the challenges unless you promise to stop voting DNMC. You don't want to know what happens when I lose my temper.

Hmm...actually..this might give you an indication.

Carry on.

Probably should save some of that popcorn for the inevitable "Is motion blur considered speed"..."The background must be blurred, or the (subject) can't possibly be speeding", ...etc. Or, "what does working really mean"..."a net isn't a physical net is it?"..."the challenge description said person or object", ...etc.

Amazing place this is. :P

Entering any thread in the middle is like coming into the middle of a conversation. Noone reads threads from the beginning, right? ;o)

Hmmm. Not sure how to respond to that one...I have been following this since the beginning. Does that make me a sucker for the theatrical? :P

...Speaking of motivational posters, for those that are "splitting hairs" over the "Fill the Frame" challenge description, you are all losers! Here's a de-motivational poster for you all! ;-)

This photo Does not meet challenge!!!

GOOD GRIEF!

A challenge is a challenge for a reason, right? The challenge was to take a picture where the subject fills the frame. I think we all really know what that should look like. Whether or not we vote higher or lower, give benefit of the doubt for a good shot that practically fills the frame, or whatever....it is what it is.

Is it a good idea to nit-pick? Sure, why not?
I will reiterate what I said on page one of this thread. For ME, filling the frame with only your subject is not a difficult rule to understand. I have definately given credit in the form of a higher score ( if, of course, the other qualities of the photo merit it) to those who, in my opinion, fulfilled the task set. I have also, however, given leeway to a fantastic shot which pretty much met the challenge...but I have done this during many challenges. People all vote the way they want. This will never change. There will always be DNMC's in challenges. Whether they get a low score is completely up to you. A crappy photo is a crappy photo whether it meets the challenge or not. They can cry all they want, they still wont end up higher than a great photo that practically meets the challenge.

Had I entered I would have filled the stupid frame! Filled it to the very BRIM! :)

That's fine...but how many of the 1 and 2 voters actually use 9 and 10...and if so...in what ratio?

And how many 1 and 2 and up to 4 voters actually leave a comment to say why they have voted this!
the figures below 4 should force a comment or not accept or how are the recipients going to improve!

How the photographer improves or not is up to them based on what comments they received, the score they got and the lack of comments as well. It is the mob railing against the DNMC police and vice versa in threads like this that discourages many people from leaving a comment as to why they voted low.

For the life of me, I will never understand why people can't accept that other people shoot, think and vote differently than themselves and life would suck if it were any other way.

edit to add: On the other hand, this site might suck were it not for all the drama in the forums. :)

Yes how do you fill the frame and still have an interesting focal point!

I've voted 100% on this challenge and happy to say that I've given out the most 7+ votes in a while. I've also given out a lot of low votes too, but... *shock/horror*... those went to photos I actually didn't like! I do consider if the entry fits the challenge, but at the end of the day, I'm voting on quality too and if your entry meets the challenge but stinks like a big turd, then it stinks like a big turd. Simple as that.

You know what? I had some free time today but couldn't go out to take pics because of bad weather. Feeling bored, I turned to DPC... I've been completely entertained all day. Cheers, it's been fun!

See my entry after the challenge is over. I surely have done it.

Ya'll gotta remember too..that the none acceptance of a ..say 200 people...by way of their vote here at DPC does not make for a terrible photo...
08/29/2007 01:31:42 AM · #172
Did anyone notice that pu$$y that voted DNMC yesterday on some photos, then today, changed his/her profile to "annonymous"? We'll see who you are come Sunday.
