I was VERY suprised when I checked the results of the past Challenge that I got first place.
I had been checking the scores all week and I felt base on my score I would finish in the top 10 , but to my amazement I got first place.
I did receive a lot of good comments and I than all who voted on my photo
Here is the photo
Keeping Cool 40's style
I got this shot by using a white bed sheet as the back drop. I had my girl friend hold my external flash above abd behind the fan pointing at the back drop and used a 1/2 second exposure to really overexpose the bed sheet so it looked just like a solid white back ground.
We tried several differnt angles with the flash and this one worked out the best.
Also the fan was running at the time to give a little motion blur on the fan blades.
The fan belonged to my girlfriends grandfather and he used it for about 15 years or so in his office from the late 40's on.
Here are some additional shots to show my attempt to get a good photo.

cool shot and congrats!
so is the 'sepia-ish' tone from your white balance setting? What is "white balace #1" setting anyways? :D

Thanks guys.... I had the white ballance set to "flash", i think the sephia-ish tone came from one of the lights directly over the fan. I tried all of he white ballance settings and even set it manually with one particular image where I used the flash, but the one I used for the challenge was just the flash WB setting

Congratulations on the ribbon Jab. That 3:2 aspect ratio really helps, I feel - used the Nikon's ability to do that myself, and I'm sure I wouldn't have scored as high without it.
