Disregarding the blather in the first of this post, what makes it your thread? The fact that you made the original post? In any event, why do you assume that fact gives you any say in whether it belongs in rant or not? Why should any relevant but potentially inflammatory posts be required to be made elsewhere?

Where did I make a claim to this being my thread?

I just simply asked to not rant.

If you MUST rant, then rant.

I just simply have opened up discussion.

If intelegent discussion is impossible for you, and you must rant, then all I have suggested is that you, and everyone else that has to bitch about this subject go elsewhere.

Again, since you missed it, I am just the messenger.

Just when it seemed as though nothing could keep the phone companies from cooperating with the government to spy on citizens -- not the FISA law, not potential suits by the ACLU, not a shred of respect for the constitutional rights of the citizenry -- at last, there's a way to get them to stop wiretaps: don't pay the phone bill.
