a friend of mine is having trouble with the autofocus on his 20d. he says it seems to back focus pretty substantially, but he's had the camera for a while now, and the issue is relatively new. even with the 16-35 2.8 the subject is OOF. camera set to center focus point - subject OOF - BG in focus.

i would think this would be a lens issue, but he thinks it's the camera. and it happens with the majority - but not all of his lenses.

he's a weathered photog, so i don't think it's user error.

anyone else run into this?

which autofocus setting is he using?

AI focus i think.
