Hey, since we're gonna put up the storm shutters, batten down the hatches, and drag the chairs in from the deck, I'd just like to do a little happy dance. This was my best week EVER!!!
I got a personal best, a personal best week with two 6+ scores, and a personal best B&W over 6, my best Free Study, my first Free Study over 6!
I'm thrilled and I hope my Entropy teammates are as well!
I have noticed that we at Team Suck have become forces to reckon with as we collect PBs, ribbons, and Top Ten finishes on what seems to me to be a regular basis.
GO TEAM SUCK!!!!!

Originally posted by Melethia: It's another lovely sunny day in Iraq. Actually, it's incredibly smoky and hazy. Something large is burning in Baghdad and has been for a day or so, but do you think I could find out what on CNN, BBC, Fox, MSNBC? No! I suspect all the journalists who are "in" Baghdad are really in New Jersey and calling it in. It would be hard not to notice the very thick and large column of smoke, nor the fact that there's a very thick black layer of smoke on the ground everywhere this morning.
Another observation - I'm beginning to think the Morning Mortar guys have day jobs. They drive by, launch a few rounds, then head off to work. This morning I was in the shower. Argh. If they'd just wait 'til, say, midday, or midmorning... |
Couldn't find anything on the net about the fire raging there...Maybe tomorrow something will hit the news.

It was the net I checked as well - I don't have a TV. I'll try to edit and put up some pics from last night if I get a chance!

I saw the BBC article earlier - I don't think that was it. And I don't think it was the car bomb unless it ignited a fuel storage place. Here's what it looked like yesterday evening - and it was miles from where I was at the time the picture was taken.

Eek, just realised my number of received comments is higher than my number of comments made. I better get yapping again soon.
I'm still in Belgrade, which is very hot, but the nightlife is amazing. Ok, maybe not as hot as Iraq.
Anyway, you can all expect a load of comments from me once I'm back in the UK and permanently attached to a computer again.

I just realized I've reached a small milestone: 100 challenges entered. I've been a member for almost a year. I have really gotten my money's worth out of this membership. What a fun year it has been, and how much I have learned and improved.
Thanks Team Suck for all the fun and support and friendship!!! |

Ephln, I want to say it is a pleasure having you aboard the Team Suck life raft (and not just because of that last compliment.) I haven't been participating in the chat much lately, but I've been reading the thread and enjoying your company very much. |

This does look a lot like the pix of the oil well fires we saw during and after Desert Storm. |

Hoya is top notch. You might want to think about a system such as Cokin that would enable you to use the polariser on different lenses, but what do I know? I sort of feel that Photoshop has replaced most of the filters I might use... |

In case anyone is interested....Overstock.com has HOYA UV, Polarizer and Sunlight filters in many different sizes for around 65-70% off. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. Listed under Electronics - Digital accessories.
PS..no sales tax..and $2.95 shipping on all orders.
