There seems to be quite a bit of options now that I've looked around. Any opinions on ones that you've used? |

There is a forum here dedicated to stock photography - my recommendation would be to first read through the threads in that forum as there has been much discussion on this topic already.

I guess it depends on the type of pics you make. For me, Shutterstock works fine (in the sense that it yields the highest income ;) ). You can easily sign up with three, four or five stock sites and see what works for you. Myself, I am with three sites.

It's true John, anybody clicking that link and signing up within a certain period will be my referred photog. Shutterstock(ooops, did it again) pays me for the pics that YOU sell, and it costs you nothing. For them, it's a cheap way of advertising, so we are all winners. |

I do best at shutterstock, but it really helps to KEEP uploading. Istock and dreamstime are ok for me, but tend to just tick along. I HATE the upload interface at istock. |

Thanks for your opinions people. This I prefer to reading through dozens of pages of technical jargon. It's the personal experience that I wanted to know about. Thanks again =] |

You will really open a bucket of worms. Mico versus macro. Personally Alamy, where else can ya sell a picture of a bedroom with nothing but a bed and sell it for over $800, or a picture of an Union Pacific train for over $500, or a picture of an aligator in a zoo for $175. Yup, lots more sales at SS but bigger dollars at Alamy. Best of luck check them all out closely. |
