I did a few (200) shots of my nephew, kind of "1st birthday" shots. He was a little cranky at first:

Wouldn't *you* be cranky if you were trying to push new teeth through your gums while your uncle was busy blasting you with flash 200 times?

Nice shots!

Punch up the whites and kick in a little bit more contrast, IMO.

Definitely, these haven't really been edited at all yet, just very minor things.

Heh, I never post anything without editing first anymore. Makes me forget that I used to do the same.

In general, it's better to get the exposure a bit brighter than this out of the camera. It allows for better noise control. Course, there's that fine edge where you unrecoverably blow the highlights instead of pushing the exposure a stop :(

I really need to learn more about exposure control, I very rarely mess with it, just cause im not sure what to do. (I start photog classes soon, so Ill have a pretty good understanding shortly)

Also, on the plus side, I shot all of these in raw, so I guess that gives me a little lee way to tol around.
