I was playing around with one of the photos I took while on vacation in North Carolina this summer. I wanted to give it a Sunset Feel or Mood. This is what came out of 30 minutes of playing with layers.

-First layer is an Orange/Black Gradiant set at Darken 72.
-Second Layer is a Royal Blue set at Overlay 52.
-merged layers and adjustt the Shadow -20 Midtone -6 Hightlight 3

Is it too dark? Too light? Noise?

Please tell me what you think. Does it work or does it fail? I am still learning so I would appreciate feedback. Thanks

Cudjoem & Givemeashot, thank you for your feedback.

Zoomdak - Doh! I forgot that it is better to spot flaws if one has the original to compare it too.

This is the original straight from the camera photo

Anyone else have any opinions, critiques...?

yeah i thought it looked fairly decent. How would it look though if the lighter shades were at the bottom, like the end of a sunset or something.

I was thinking maybe the mountains and should at least be a little darker, because I would think they would silhouette more. But it looks great the way it is too.

It looks pretty good. I personally would take the trees out of the top foreground also. But they do help frame the shot so leaving them in doesn't hurt it.
