Here are the bridals I shot this weekend with the lens I rented. This bride found me on the web and chose me because she liked these bridals I had done in the past...that, and my price was probably pretty good too! I personally do not think they were too bad considering it was 90+ outside and we were in a swamp...spotted 5 alligators!

2007

This was just the brides favorite engagement photo done a few weeks ago. I didn't particularily care for it.

OH...and they were shot with my new 350D.

haha Judy...

Gator 1 and 2...now that I think about it, there were really A LOT of gators out. I didn't count the gators I saw sunning themselves on the banks! Wished I had more time to photograph them, but I was trying not to get distracted from the task at hand. There is also a wonderful area to shoot nesting snowy egrets, where there are bigger gators! I am trying to make good use out of this lens while I have it.

I wish I knew more about photoshop, because I LOVE these trees around the Gardens and I am just sure this could be a GOOD photo. :-)

I just heard from my bride...and she LOVES her pictures. LOVES...she kept saying it over and over! She also had to throw in that I am NOT charging enough! Well, I know that, but it is only my second wedding assignment. I have one more in January that I plan to charge my 'low' rate and then I can bump it up a little more once I have the confidence to say I CAN do this!

For those who want to know. I charged this bride $450 for EVERYTHING! Engagement, Bridals, ceremony, reception. I charged the first bride (a very good friend of mine who I felt was more or less giving me the opportunity for experience...that and she couldn't afford one)..charged her $150.00.

Is that just for your time, or does that include any prints?

Very nice, but as I have mentioned before, a nice, long fastlens is always better for bridal portraits. a 70-200 f2.8, whilst expensive is perfect, or at the cheaper end of the scale, how about a 85mm 1.8.

I bet you're very happy the bride loves her shots. $450 is way underpriced.. But then again, my first 3 weddings I did for nothing, just expenses (and they had to pay for albums/prints etc). I think you could comfortably charge $1500 upwards for a full day.

BTW, dont you just love shooting weddings, I thrive on the pressure.

I am giving her 4x6 proofs. She got about 30 of the engagement photos. There will be 36 from the bridals and I am expecting about 200 from the wedding.

I don't know for certain the prices that other photographer's in our area charge, but my wedding done 15 years ago was done for $150. I would not say they are upscale, but we love them. That same photographer charges $650 today, so if I can get there, I would be pleased. $2000 is A LOT for our area for a wedding, so $1500 still might be on the high end.
