My daughter just had her camera stolen, and needs to buy another before going off to college in a week or so. She loves to snap candids of people as well as in your face shots. She had a Canon SD200, which she loved the form factor but felt it was too slow, got too much red-eye, and was not sensitive enough.
I recommended going with the Fuji line this time. We are tempted to go with the F40FD because it's about $60 or more cheaper than the F31FD ($192 versus $260), and takes SD cards (she still has a 1GB SD card). She uses automatic anyway (that's all her SD200 did), so she doesn't need Av and Tv modes.
I'm about to order it for her, but I'm posting to see if anyone things that's a mistake! Would love to hear from Fuji F40 owners and anyone else who compared that to the F31FD. (I did read the review and have seen mxed user comments; but all cameras seem to get them. And for a pocket camera, you can't expect "too much", can you?) |

I've beat the hell out of two fuji's dragging them all around the world. Great image quality, no problems ever.
Wether or not either one was the model you're referring to, I'm too lazy to check. But as a general comment it's a solid p&s brand in my experience. |
