You're welcome - always glad when I hit Team Suckers with comments, just as I'm always pleased to get Team Suck comments! I got through half the free study, and will try to get through all of the Urban Landscape challenge if possible. There are some times during the day when internet access is almost reasonable here! :-) |

Sold the outdoors? Tricky move, that - you'll miss the space when the family grows up.
More seriously, though, congratulations and here's to a minimum of grief with moving and all. |

You're a hoot raish !!
Seriously though - buying a place was a huge thing - it's our first house. Moving is daunting though.

OHMIGAWD!!!!
I gotta tell ya......you're righter than you might think....8>)
When I had nine votes, I was at 7.3333......and I knew I had a good'un. I was actually kind of expecting that it would do well, which it has.....stabilized at roughly 6.7.
And it's unquestionably DPC friendly on a bunch of different levels.
Here's what bugs me now......I was positive that it was going to be a new PB, and now it looks like it'll be my #2 shot......Lord knows there's nothing wrong with a 6.7, yet I'm disappointed because even though it's DPC friendly, I honestly think it's a better shot than my truck.
I'm still surprised to this day, especially since I have a better handle on the whole DPC friendly concept, at how well the truck did.
What the heck is wrong with me that I'm now disappointed at what is a terrific score, no matter who you are?
Is that just the nature of this "disease" that having had a taste of a 7+, even if only for a few hours, that I want a stupid virtual ribbon so bad I can taste it?
How sad is that?????
Oh.....and to top it off, I have two 6+ scores going at the same time and that happiness won't even override my stupid whiny need to have the Rural be a PB.
Maybe I should take a break.
Some days I don't think this is a healthy environment for my weird teeny little brain........BAH!
Am I too weird????

I hear ya! I got as high as 7.02, but dropped back to 6.95 (and got another comment from someone in Team Suck!). I wasn't ever all that happy with my current personal best, and I'm glad this shot will replace it. |

I am definitely not happy with my personal best. I think it is a sensational, meaningless, artless, DPC friendly shot. As a matter of fact, the only one on my top row I really like is the portrait of my husband.
Jeb, I have gone to bed happy with a 7+ score on the first night after roll-over a number of times. And more often than that I have gone to bed with a 3 or 4 average vote. In the morning it begins to sort out and those first few votes become almost meaningless. I just enjoy the high score for the moment, knowing the shot will eventually settle in the 5+ range or possibly the low 6 range. It's fun to see the 7s, but don't waste anymore time trying to figure out why the rest of the voters didn't agree with the early voters. They just never do. |

Can someone explain the concept of "DPC friendly"? I've seen it mentioned many times and I guess I'm not grasping what is and what is not DPC friendly.

I should no doubt be shot for trying to explain something by showing its opposite, but this is typically not 'DPC friendly'. It has a lot of vibrant colour, yes, but the pin-sharp focus? the depth of field?
'DPC friendly' is usually used perjoratively, often because of the lack of appreciation of images such as the example above. Sour grapes?, Who, me? |
