i finally decided on the canon 350D. but now comes the questions, should i buy only the body, or buy the body with the lens that comes with it? i've heard it's not that great. and if i do buy only the body, which lens should i buy, that would be good for all kinds of photography? how much extra would i have to spend?

depends on your budget and what you plan to shoot ...

If you can afford to buy a better lense or lenses, than just buy the camera body. The kit lense is nothing spectacular.

There is no one lense good for 'all kinds of photography'.

You can expect to spend between $100-$6000 on a lense depending on what it is.

Start off looking at this check the top rated images and find out which lenses they used. This will get you pointed in the right direction.
