There's got to be an easier way to make 4x6 sized images out of my high-res ones when I go to make proofs. I'm thinking there has to be a way to set maximum dimensions or set maximum pixels. I'd like to turn it into an action and then run batch processing on the folder. Does this make sense to anyone, and if so, can you tell me what steps I need to take to do this?
TIA!

Start recording a new action, go to File > Batch > Fit Image and put the pixel size of the longest side into both boxes (ie. if you want your images to be 400x600 or 600x400, put 600 into both boxes). That'll resize them so that the longest side is the max length. Save your action and then batch it on your folder.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I'd been able to make myself understood! :)
Aha! Got it. Thank you so much!

Sorry, it's File > Automate > Fit Image.

Ah, that is absolutely wonderful. I feel kind of foolish for having done it the hard way all this time :)
