I'm at work right now and I don't have photoshop here, so I can't go and try this myself. I was wondering if it's possible to make an action that when ran, would put a frame around my photo? Let me explain a bit further. I like to take my photo, put a thin black line around it (approx. 5 pixels), then a thin white line (approx. 5 pixels as well) and then a thicker black frame. The thing I am wondering about most, is it possible to make an action that will make the two thin lines 5 pixels no matter the size of the photo?

Thanks

Yeah record exactly what you described using the Canvas Size tool and save it as an action. Just check the Relative box in the tool and it will add those 5, 5, and whatever pixel borders accordingly.

Thanks routerguy666, I'll give this a try when I get home tonight.

No problem. If I weren't so lazy I'd do it myself seeing as every single shot I submit gets a 2px gray and 4px black border around it.

I'd like to add, in canvas resizing mode you want to double your entered values (10 in your case) because it only figures top/bottom, and left/right. If you entered 5, besides being too small it would be uneven too, giving 3 pixels to one side and 2 to the other because you can't cut a single pixel in half. Gotta use even numbers. That's the way I've been doing it though, maybe there's another method I'm unaware of.

Thanks for the tip Telehubbie, I'll keep it in mind.
