For D200 owners, which compact flash card are you using? Which one will you recommend me?
Thanks |

| I use SanDisk Extreme III (I have two 2 GB and one 4 GB). They have worked perfectly for me, in all kinds of weather situations. |

I use the same thing as ursula. Although, I have 2 sandisk ultra II high 4 gb as a backup. Cheaper than extreme III but good too.

| I also use scandisk, and Lexar... they both make them up into the 12gb range if you're that memory hungry... great for weddings, but at that size they're a bit of an investment |

I have the following:
One 2G San Disk Extreme III
One 4G San Disk Extreme III
One 2G A-Data
One 2G Lexar Professional
All of them are within the x120-x133 write speed range and they all work just fine. |

I also use the Sandisk Extreme3 cards. However some brands are cheaper and perform just as well. However with lesser known brands it can be hit or miss as far as getting a defective card or one that will wack out after reformatting it a few times. the CF format is very stable across the board compared to some of the other formats out here. Smart Media comes to mind as they have caused me some nightmares.
For peace of mind I would stick to a trusted brand.

I would also stick with one of the big names. I would rather spend a little more and not risk losing a bunch of images that I cannot get back. I have a 2GB Sandisk Ultra II card. Works very well, but can take a while to flush the buffer if you fill it up so you might want to look at an Extreme III card. |

Transcend. As fast as any other brand, but way cheaper.

4GB Sandisk Extreme IV, very fast 266x/40MB per sec. download.
2GB Lexar Pro, 166x
2 - 4GB Promaster, lower priced
Just some Pros/Cons of CF-Cards' Size and Speed.
I thought about getting an 8GB CF card, less reloading.
1) On the pesimistic side, with that you have an opportunity to lose more if it gets corrupted.
2) I didn't see any 8GB Sandisk Extreme IV 266x speed at Adorama.
The were available at the lower speed.
With higher speeds you can get more of fast action scenes, if needed. You still have to wait for the cameras buffer to unload after a few shots, but that wait may be less.
With LESS Gigabytes, your skills are pushed more then the numbers of kills. It's like scatter-shot verses fosused and aimed more). Soon cameras will shoot too many to handle in post processing adjustments and scanning/perusing the multitudes.
I personally think that in some fast moving situations, this is not neccesarily bad, you would have more to choose from.
