Both of my D70's decided to take a crap on me within a week of eachother! One can't focus worth anything (no matter the lens) - I called Nikon and they said to send it in for repairs because it's something with the camera. The other one, flashes and [ERR] and [CHA] messages all the time, and makes files unreadable and in totally new formats unknow to man.

So... with 5 shoots lined up this week, I can't have 2 cameras not working. Why on earth did they decide to crap out the same time? Conspiracy! I think Nikon makes the cameras link up secretly with other D70's so that you are left high and dry and have no other choice but to go out and buy a brand new one! I'm joking of course... but it's just my luck.

At this point in time, I have no extra fundage saved up for such an emergency (I know, I know... how can I run a business... yada yada yada?) Well, with having surgery a month ago and insurance only paying 90% of a $14,000 bill... we're SOL. Not to mention the bill for DD's face the other month when she ran into a metal mailbox and needed to be rushed to the ER. So, I called my MIL in a panic and asked her to help me out while we get back on our feet.

She calls me this morning on her way here and says, "I pulled out X amount money, I would like you to get whatever camera you would like for that amount!" CHA-CHING! I instantly thought.... D2X here I come. Until I realized the price of $5,000 for the body alone! Not gonna happen.

We made out way to go get my camera. I happily settled on a D200! And it is beautiful!!!! :) I can't wait to get these other ones out of here, fixed and sold! I'm tired of dealing with the D70's crapola!

Now.. I need to spend the night with a crash course on the D200 so I am ready for my shoot tomorrow and the rest of the week! Looks like I am pulling an all nighter! lol

hate to hear of your misfortune, but glad things are working out anyway!

besides, everything happens for a reason. Maybe juuuuuuust maybe, you'll end up developing a new technique or style that takes your work to the next level (your work is GORGEOUS already Lorrie - I'm just sayin...)

Enjoy your new camera, and may your shoots go even better than normal this week!

Thanks so much! The D200 is a huge step up from the D70... there is so much more I have to learn on it and so many more buttons and options.

So far, I'm loving it! :)
