Shez, thanks so much for your nice comments. I'm not entering these in the free study because invariably, if I LOVE a picture and enter it in a challenge, it doesn't do as well as I hope it would and I end up with a bad taste in my mouth about an image that otherwise would just make me happy. I don't want to look at this picture in six months and think, "I LOVED that picture, what a fun moment, how embarrassing it was when it scored a 4.9 in that Free Study." So I can only enter pictures in challenges that I don't like. :-P Seriously, I've kind of sworn off challenges for a little while until I can sort this all out in my head. Meanwhile, for right now, rather than focusing on perfecting "the DPC look" so as to do well in challenges, I just enjoy myself taking pictures and becoming better friends with all of you wonderful people in the forums. :) |

Hello everyone -
I feel terrible about this since I'm the one who started it, but I've been forced to quit the project. I really have not been feeling this season at all, and between the chaos at work, the long and slow move, school, and spotty internet, it all just makes the daily pressure of taking a photo into work - and I never want photography to be associated with drudgery. I've been very impressed with everyone's work in here, and congratulations to those who make it to the finish line!

You have nothing to feel bad about. I've slipped off a bunch lately too. And yet I can say that this experience has been the most favorable one I've had with DPC. I've made new friends, taken a lot of pictures, resurrected an old love for marshmallows, and just had loads of fun -- all because you started this.
Thank you so much, and don't sweat how life can pull you away sometimes. We're all still here, and we're grateful to you for this challenge.
BTW - my new signature is the result of this challenge...

Don't feel too bad... life happens.
I appreciate you getting this ball rolling and have had a blast, even though I missed a few days myself.
So, go, rest, relax... if you are like me, you will pick that camera up in about 3 or 4 days and think,"It has been sooooo ling since I took a photo..."
Thanks for sharing and know our thoughts are with you!
Edit I just checked my own "record"... I have missed 9 of 43 days in this side challenge, even though on some days I had more than one photo. So, you may not be as alone as you feel:)

I hope things get more normal for you soon. And I've really enjoyed this experience, so all is not lost. You had a great idea, and I feel lucky that you shared it!

Don't feel bad - you've done something wonderful here! I have really enjoyed seeing what everyone experiences and have gotten to know some people in the process. Thanks for introducing this concept.
Best of luck to you as you work your way thru this current crazy phase in life!

Only on Day 31 - or at least image 31. I guess I'm completely off the day count now. But I'm still shooting.
Today's shot isn't my usual funny pic and there's no Chuck Norris at the end. I'll pick up the lighter side tomorrow.

Day 36 that I had posted. Then, accidentally submitted to a challenge, so I had to pull it.
