You won't find a new 1D in a store. If you do, you have found the secret to time travel. Fred Miranda would be a good place to look around as well as BHPhoto, but it's unlikely they'd (BH) have them.

I've bought and sold 2 1D cameras, both through Fredmiranda.com You can find them for around 900-1000 USD depending on condition. Just remember that early SN had an issue with banding try and get a later SN body, also the original 1D is a battery hog, make sure you have at least 2 preferably 3 batteries. Its an awesome camera with great colors and speeds. ALthough 4MP I've seen impressive 20x30 print from them. Once you put a 1 series camera through its paces you will toss that other canon back in your bag and never look back. Something magical about it.

I used to own one of the original 5,000 1D's and I had no problems with banding while using the newest firmware. If you want to find the newest 1D's you should be looking for about 24,000+ serial numbers, I believe about 30,000 were made.
