Hey peeps! Looks like I'll be traveling to Dallas (Irving) in a couple weeks, to attend training for work. I've actually spent a good deal of time in the Dallas area, but it was before I got so involved in photography. Of course I'll be bringing the gear, and will be available in the evenings & on Saturday morning.
Okay, who is up for dinner / photos / adventures, etc? Feel free to post suggestions as to where / what to do!

Aw hell, Billy boy...if it ends up being just you and me...we'll still have fun! (Although I'll be disappointed in our TX showing.) I'm psyched for your visit! |

awww - you ARE a nice person, aren't you?!!?!? <> I'm sure the good folks in that area just haven't seen the thread... since we all know Texans are really friendly!
Any ideas on where to go? Personally, I'm a huge fan of good restaurants - Pappadeaux's, Treebeard, etc. - oh, wait... this is about photography! LOL (sorry - there are just some places i HAVE to go to in Dallas!)
BTW - even if someone can't join in, feel free to give advice, ok? Thx!

The canal in Las Colinas is interesting... and way close to Irving. Downtown Dallas is always good, and Fair Park has some interesting architecture. The FW Zoo (but it'll probably be WAY hot)... Sundance Square in FW could give some nice street photography... White Rock Lake might be pretty, too... which is close to the Dallas Arboretum... the FW Botanic Gardens are nice, too.
Anyway. Just some places off the top of my head.
I wish I could go, but I have to work and then my sis is coming into town. Y'all have fun!! |

boooo - wait - woohoo - wait.... gack!
Sandy - would love to meet such a sweet and giving person, but understand completely (just enjoy the time with your husband & keep your fingers crossed that I find a willing model on MM / OMP / MS) I may be back down that way in October & will 'let you make it up to me' LOL
Mike - Cool! The drive down 75 isn't TOO horrible; made that trip myself a few times; we already know miss Kat makes quite the interesting drinking partner LOL
I just bought the plane tickets this afternoon & figure I'll be available after 5 every night (Tue. thru Fri.), and depart from DFW @ 3 on Saturday (wish means a potential night-out on Friday!)

Mmm, there's an Indian casino....... :P
Cool...Mike is coming down! 3.5 hour drive. I'm available any/and or all nights for entertaining/taking pics if you'd like. PM me with specifics 'bout training, staying, etc.
Lori had some good ideas and I actually was thinking of some of the same. I also thought about the horses in Las Colinas, especially at night...beautiful. Lots of choices, so pick what you would want to shoot (type, style) and we can find somewhere to go. I'm going to be the damn tour guide, so if we had a damn.....lol!!
Downtown Dallas is always good. Fort Worth is another great place to go. Lots of fun things to see and do.
We'll make this trip fun for ya. And if you are back in October...we might be able to get even more peeps rounded up!

Mornin Kat! Hey, that sounds great! I'll PM my schedule to you, and I had totally forgotten the horses - thx! umm, i also plan to work with 1-2 models while down there (we're tryin to market to seniors right now, but only have one recent shoot & want to expand that on our site) Any idea how hard it is to find a model willing to shoot @ 7 in the morning!?!?!?!? Freakin unbelievable!
Ok
Listen, you feel free to be the tour guide - sounds like you know plenty o stuff to do. Of course, we'll have to try yer fav BBQ place! (I still have several of those yellow Dickie's BBQ cups @ the house, and its been 3 YEARS since we've gone there!)
Mike - how bout Tues. night?
OH! if either of you want in on the model thing, lemme know & I'll try to arrange it, k? |

Hello, hello, I'm in Dallas! I have work Tuesday thru Thursday, but I'm off on Friday and Saturday. Though I might have a shoot one of those days. I'm sure I could get away at some point though to meet up with some DPCers and do some shooting. As plans get more solidified, keep me informed!

um, I've never shot with a model before so that leaves me out...I've NO studio type equip or much for gear period, so I can't compete with you guys. If you do any evening shoots, I'll watch! :P
Keep me posted...I'm wide open..your schedule is driving this thing! |
