Not so much to look at but I was enjoying it at the time. 2.8- 1/60-iso 800, so the moon was partly behind a cloud veil at the time.
Wider view of the same scene just before sunset.

Well, we'll see how it goes. According to Hallo, anyway, the moon will be even more dead over the Capitol on Thursday night than it was last December when I lucked into it. And even tomorrow, Wed., and Fri. are pretty close. If I get anything good, maybe you shouldn't vote on any July free studies with the Capitol and the moon. :)

FWIW, to get this shot of the moon, I followed this exposure guide.

Here is my moon shot from a parking lot. I used spot meter on the moon and maybe dialed it down a bit more to get all the detail and make the pole disappear.
Settings: ISO 200, f/18, 1/15 shutterspeed

Poles don't necessarily mean a bad location. This one reminded me of one of my own moon shots:

For anyone who was following this thread, here are the results of my adventures last week, including my free study entry:
I didn't quite get the Capitol as I wanted it because the moon was blurred in the haze, but I did get it in the right position with nice color:
