Count me in, I was just giving myself the healthy pep talk on the way to work!

Have you heard of Sparkpeople.com? They are really helpful in this effort.

So, who wants to start this week? I've already started trying to replace sodas with water and try to keep from snacking. I'll probably post a photo a week from today.

I will start tomorrow (today I guess, as it's after 2am.) I will weigh in the morning. I will try to do the photo tomorrow as well.

Okay...I'm going to jump in here with a starting weight and it's not a self portrait, but from the wedding this past weekend. You can see that we are not a small family :)

One of my most important reasons for losing is my youngest daughter who has inherited my bad eating habits and her genes won't allow her to get away with that. My hubby is doing weight watchers and is doing well, so that's probably what I'll do on the side with him.

Okay....*gasp* starting weight (at 5'10") is 257lbs. My goal is to get down to 175 eventually. My first goal is to get under 250.

Ok, I've been watching this thread and think I will join. I was doing really well with the whole weight stuff, but since November 2006, I have had the worst luck with my health: twisted ankle, lower back problems, and now have slipped discs (neck). However, I choose to be healthy and am slowly trying to get back into my "routine". I don't consider myself overweight, but I do consider myself over-my-weight--15 pounds to be exact. So belly-off-club, here I come. I'd like to get as much of that 15 pounds off before I go to Argentina--so 6 weeks.

Current stat: 162 pounds (as of Aug. 1)
Goal: 145-148 pounds :)

ok well I haven't been eating fantastic(less, yes but I'm still a dark chocolate fanatic) but I have been kickin' pedometer tushie. over 18,000 steps yesterday..everystepcounts.com says it was 7.6 miles. my starting weight according to my last doctor's appt.(last week):.......drumroll please...................... 238
I'm not going to weigh again until the doctor does it next week. lack of a huge drop is horrible for my motivation. now I'm just focusing on movement. lots of movement.
it's not a great shot to show much but I did just take this a couple days ago.

Not sure I'm up for self-portraits, especially without a proper tripod and not yet figuring out the timer and the current lack of adequate internet at home and just being busy in general. I'm just full of excuses, eh?

However, I recommitted to WW last week, already down about 2 lbs since Friday. It helps that I've totally burnt myself out on takeout in the last few months - more incentive to stay home and cook! And I want to look fantastic for my exhibiton in October. And the new condo's clubhouse has a really nice fitness center.

Breakfast
lower sugar instant oatmeal

Lunch
salisbury steak & mac and cheese frozen dinner

Dinner
chicken with strawberry salsa
gingered asparagus

Snacks/Desserts
banana
1 cup of organic red seedless grapes
pomegranate-cherry SoBe Life Water
1/2 cup mango sorbet

OH...MY..FRIGGEN....GOD!!!

If you decide to employ the "dancing around like an idiot" method of weightloss as I so frequently use here are a couple tips for you:

1. Do not do this in front of an open window.
2. Make sure you are fully clothed.

Just a few minutes ago I was dying my hair and dancing around in just a bra and towel so that I didn't get dye on my clothes. I mean I was DANCIN'!. I'm pretty sure there was a full on flashdance moment or two. I turned around to find a neighbor boy (about 13 years old) just staring at me through the window of the front door. I ran for a shirt and when I came back out he and another boy looked at me and just booked it. I am MORTIFIED. absolutely and completely. and of course the kids without a doubt going to tell the other neighborhood kids and this is just days before my poor daughter starts school here as "the new girl". I hang my head in flashdancing shame...... From now on this will be called Black Monday and I insist you all fly your flags at half mast. :P

on the plus side. I have over 10,000 steps logged already. but this is too bleak a day for plus sides........

Crystal, you sure know how to brighten a Monday for the rest of us! LOL

If it makes ya feel enny better, we were without kids this weekend, and I tried to throw Glenda outside nekkid in the rain! LOL (Don't worry - we live WAY out in the sticks!)

Besides, you can always do it again in a few weeks & see if they notice any difference!!!

Neat idea, but kind of late for me, as I only want to lose about 10-15 more pounds (I originally lost 50, regained 35 over two years, now have lost 20 of that).

Besides, not sure I want permanent photographic evidence if I fail to keep the weight off this time. :-/

I may try to do this, it would DEFINITELY be some motivation to lose the 15-20 lbs, I keep saying I want to lose.

As close as I'm getting at the moment to a SP. As before, I am shocked by how much food I actually get to eat - no starving happening over here!

I've lost 1 pound. wohoo (said slightly sarcastically, though I recognize that one is one and I can't lose 5 until I lose one and so on and so on and so on and so on.)

No picture showings yet, though. :P
