| Sony is new to the dSLR arena and as such, some photographers shows no special respect for the brand name when it comes to their dSLR bodies. However, I would think that Sony would become a major player if their effort is kept in line (as in, wont give up this market segment). Their innovation with their product lines (and their HUGE budget) has always fascinated me. |

The only respect they might get is from the failing company name they bought out Konica-Minolta. Which itself might be a bad thing. SOny is a very good manufacturer but field changes everything. Their a bit new and producing a satisfactory dSLR isnt easy.
However ISO 3200, 10 FPS... that body and grip looks like their aiming for larger territory i think itll spec out that way but not perform that way.

Don't see why this wouldn't be able to perform as advertised. Expect the noise and in-camera image processing to be a bit of an issue as it is on the A-100. They are still emerging from their P&S shell.
Expect this to cost a fair bit. Is that a 35mm f/1.4 on there? nubbad. expect that to cost a lot too... |

I went to Ritz a couple of weeks ago and stopped at the lens counter. The guy behind the counter mentioned something about Sony coming out with a new camera. I figured it would just be a matter of time.
A bit more info

Sony Electronics Blog: Response to Alpha DSLR Comments
The big question is WHEN?! It is nice to hear something (anything!) from Sony on this at least. :) |

More speculation and rumors.

Heh, Sony expects to eventually knock over Nikon and Canon.
Well, if they're really releasing a 20mp A500 with low noise, and Zeiss lenses, hmmm.
I think Benji needs to tell more of what he knows to be true ;) |
