So, how does it work when the US Government interferes with the sovereignty of another country? Who's going to confiscate US Government property? |

It's okay, because if they seize your property or throw you in jail without charges, then you are by definition a terrorist, and terrorists don't deserve human rights. |

what's more scary is the fact that he could easily accuse ANYONE of being a national threat and have all those "new" laws imposed on the poor fella. i'm sure political opponents will be afraid. is he slowly trying to rule with an iron fist - under the cover of terrorism (protection against)? |

If you trust the government this is a good thing keeping in mind that government officials NEVER abuse their power... (see: Nixon Tapes)
Very dangerous stuff considering these guys are as full of shizzle and as manipulative as they come (that goes for both sides of the aisle btw)...but that's the nature of government, so relax...sit back... |

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but it's times Like this I am so glad I'm Canadian.
I love America, and Americans, I just can't stand your president. He really, really scares me. Or rather the things he does scares me.
Once again I apologize for any hurt feelings (in a typical Canadian way) ;ΓΆ€™0

What if you are an innocent man, just out of the shower, hair still wet, wearing a towel around your head.
You understand English, but can not speak it due to complications from polio in 1940 as a kid.
When, you just peak your head out of your window to take a picture with your fancy slr of the sunset, and in that same image there just happens to be, innocently enough, a nuclear power plant.
Does this make a terrorist if he is turned in by his neighbors?

SC, this is not a rant.
Much to my dismay, this is simply a discussion at the least, and a debate at the most.
If I wanted a rant, I would of sent it there.
Good gawd.

No, he is not a terrorist until the moment he disappears. |

Where have you been, this isn't the first time this stuff has happened in the history of law, but it is very curious to hear the tale of another time it happened and the reactions it garnered:
Habeus Schmabeas
(BTW, that podcast is also a great history lesson - I promise you'll be blown away by it!)

It has been site policy/practice for several years that political threads to go Rant. It's not a commentary on the tone of the thread, but rather its political nature.
