My "B" is lame - I'll reshoot it when I spot a better one -- so, here's B & C

"a"
I'm going for a school yard alphabet where every image also begins with the letter. Wish me good luck.

Here's my take using your image using Photoshop (or elements):
Cropped to include sky for reference and highlight the A
Increased saturation of blue and cyan to highlight the reference to sky
Shadow/Highlight and increased mid level contrast to bring out the light branch - put the shadows back to 0.
Levels to move center slider to increase difference between branch and leaves
USM with a 60 radius to bring a pop to the image.
It was too much on the branches, washing out the detail, so I used a mask and erase the effect on the branches alone.
I hope that helps. |

S for snake, S for scared, S for seriously this is a great idea for the letter "S", but pleased I wasn't there to take it, as it really does look scary.

I am going in alphabetical order, but is it ok to shoot a letter out of order and post when the sequence calls for it? I mean that I might shoot an R today, but post it after I post my Q. There seems to be random posts for letters found.
I'm not complaining...but are other members following ABC order? |

I am definately NOT posting them in order, otherwise I be posting none, as I still haven't found an "A" yet.
Post them as you find them, as that is the way I am going to do them, so join me, and I look forawrd to what ever you post.

Nope - there are no specific rules about order of alphabet and I think people are choosing different ways to get there. I am doing it in order (posting them in order) but I have taken them on different days, but all since the challenge was announced.

As you have notice, I'm not doing it in order. Since I'm doing the alphabet in lower and uppercase plus the numbers, I also shot and post more than 1 per day, it will compensate for the days that I will not have time to post.
I started a project like this a few years ago but never got around to finish it, this time I will do my best to find all the letters.
And, just like Peter, I only use pictures that I shot since August first. |

I need to finish early because I am going to be out of town for about a week this month, so here are the first 5 letters in order
A B C D E
This is a blast. Having old iron works, cool New England style churches and lots of fences and stone walls is really helping me out...

You just given me an idea for the letter "A", as I have been hunting high and low for this one.
I love all your letters, so please keep them coming.
This can be quite fustrating, but also very pleasing when one finally finds a letter for this great side challenge.

I am a scientist by training, so my brain tends to see things in a rotating fashion. I have found that looking for letters all laid out in the correct orientation is not usually possible. Look upside down, sideways, backward, and they are all right before your eyes!

Thanks for the replies about the order of shooting. trust that I
will try to give reckless abandon to posting order...but I don't know...order/structure serves me well LOL@me |

Day 4
J
Tried to drop a new, corrected, image into this space but the thumb nail wouldn't chagne, so I replaced it with one that pointed the correct direction. Dislexia is a bitch. (Wine does NOT improve my typing)
