So what exactly do you do? Geologist, surveyor? What brings you to the remote and beautiful nooks and crannies of BC? Oh, and as a budding mountaineer living in Vancouver, how do I get to these places? |

lol. Well said.
Unfortunately, helicopter rides are really expensive... I guess I'll have to stick to the old fashion ways of getting out there... hiking. My last three day trip brought me up to here:
I certainly wish I could work there instead of my windowless cubicle. |

Wanna trade jobs? I work in the sub-basement of a shopping mall three days a week and in a gloomy office with harsh white fluorescent lights that give you headaches the other two.
No, but really... do you? I mean, all that sunlight reflecting off of the snow can't be good for your eyes-- even with sunglasses. And helicopter rides? Talk about dangerous. You should consider my offer if not for the awesome opportunity of getting into the construction industry then for your health =D |

before anyone gets too jealous... i have about 20 bug bites on each hand, 90% of the time here its cold and rainy, and im away from my fiance for 4-6 weeks at a time.
but, the free chopper rides and 2 weeks or so of the season spent in the alpine in good weather make it alll worth it! |

I have about 80 mosquito bites all over my body from taking shots of an electrical storm in a field at night with shorts and a muscle shirt on. The weather here is way too hot, I like the cold. And I would pay your employer if they could get me away from my wife for a month or two.
(There's the difference between engaged and married =P)
Hehe, just kiddin. But seriously, the offer still stands =D |

I'd rather bathe in chiggers than sit through another 4 hour design review meeting.
You suck. |

I'll take on a bear. We're top of the food chain, not them. We need to show em who's boss. |

In light of the rising frequency of human/bear conflicts, the Department of Fish and Game as well as National Forest service are advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the field.
We advise that outdoorsmen fasten small bells to their clothing so as not to unexpectedly startle bears in the area. We also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear.
It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity. Outdoorsmen should be able to recognize the difference between black and grizzly bear droppings for example. Black bear droppings are smaller and typically contain berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear dung is larger, has little bells in it and smells like pepper spray.
