I,m sure this has been asked before but does anyone know how to preview raw files (without opening them in PS)? I have a pile of raw files that I want to preview - like you do JPEGs in windows. The only way I have found to view them is to throw them into a side show with Elements 4. But then you don,t get the file number but it does narrow the search somewhat. Are ideas ?
I'm sure it has been asked before but I can't find it.

With PS CS2, you can see thumbs in bridge.
Microsoft Raw Thumb nailer shows thumbnails and allows windows picture viewer to see them. |

Is the Microsoft thumb viewer available of their website ? I find bridge is such a slow old beast (CS2).

Yeah um, it was in another thread to day just look up microsoft raw viewer or thumnailer or something shouldnt be hard to find.
If you know where Microsoft Windows XP power toys are on their site, its on there too. I did forget to mention you need XP (Vista has it built in) |

I'll have a look for it.
I was also having a play with Lightroom and was rather surprised that it's slide show doesn't include raw files (or that I can find). A bit of a surprise really - considering Elements can.

I use LR and all raw files -- slideshows work fine for me. LR is arguably meant for full-raw workflow, so all features should work perfectly... What behaviour do you see when you try to slideshow raw files?

The Microsoft RAW Thumbnailer is available but it hasn't been updated in awhile. I used to use it with my old 300D but it doesn't work with the 30D!
