My wife has a Fuji finepix P&S camera which we take around to snap shots of the kids. A few times now I have downloaded the shots and a number of them have the thumbnail look like a jigsaw puzzle (part of the picture are in wrong areas etc). Is this likely the product of a bad card? When I try to open such a picture I get an error that the file is corrupted.
Anybody experience this before?

I have a fuji with xd cards but never had any problems, and i have used those cards for whatever (memorystick, even filmed with them, although they weren't recommended for that, etc)
Have you tried to format the card?

| My camera takes both xd and cf cards. I don't have any problems with the cf card at all. My xd card started out with the same kind of problems as you're having. It would even not load certain pictures at all, or stop somewhere in the middle. It was never in the same place. Now I can't use the built in card reader or an external card reader on mine. But, if I upload them with the usb cable it works fine every time. |
