A great man once said...

Yeah, he pretty much said what everyone else said. Talk to the GM, tell him you want that title by this deadline, or you're going to file a lawsuit. Or get back every penny you put into it.
He said this happens more often that you think, but it's still a hugely serious issue that needs to get resolved asap.

Go get a few photo-radar traffic tickets. When she gets the bill for them (because the car is still registered to her), she'll probably get right on the transfer process. |

When my parents moved to Michigan, they sold a car we'd had for a long time to this guy and my dad screwed up transferring ownership properly.
Well, the guy got drunk and totaled the car a few weeks later. Guess who got a visit at 3am from the county Sheriff? That's right, my Dad. He didn't get in trouble, but getting roused from peaceful slumber in the wee hours of the morning by law enforcement is never pleasant. |

You just claim you were not in that village, you know nothing about a fire. All the accelerates, ignition devices and flame throwers are all for show! |

Yeah, but for once, I wasn't sitting in the back of the police car. |

Originally posted by bassbone: I agree. Call corporate office if it was from a new car dealership. But I would also give the Better Business Bureau a call as well. They can provide free information and would love to collect the metrics on a dealership that doesn't follow proper procedures...
Originally posted by scalvert: I don't think anyone can sell a car if they don't have the title. If this was a chain dealership (Toyota, Ford, etc.), I'd be on the phone to their corporate office pronto! | |
Call corporate by all means. But you will probably have a better result if you call the state department licensing auto dealers than the BBB. |

well it is almost August and I still have NO tags. I called the dealership today and tried to speak with the title person and she wasnt in. So I asked to speak to the manager and he wasnt in either. I left messages with both and have heard nothing. |

Forget the phone calls....go there in person (hope it's not TO far). When you ask for the manger/title person, do NOT give your name. When you speak to them, don't leave without a DEFINITIVE answer. Your money back or your title.....
