Well we had no kids for about a week now. I took Sunday off work to take the wife somewhere for the day. She chose Helen, GA. So we went and also venture up the road to Anna Ruby Falls. Great place. Here are a few shots:

Also secrelty took a shot of my wife
mrsrex:

I know they are not perfect but all shots are handheld. Wasn't carrying a tripod that far after all the walking we did. Any comments are always welcomed.

Also I couldn't resist the humor:

Anyone wanna guess what is 2 steps behind me?

I love Anna Ruby Falls. Definitely a must-see place if you visit Helen. Not a bad hike and you're rewarded with a double waterfall at the end.

Beautiful shots, especially for handheld.

Well we have season passes to Rock City but if you are thinking we were at Ruby Falls then that is a different spot. We were just above Helen, GA. No guesses on what was behind me when I took the shot of the sign?

Just out of curiousity, did you mean to make one "hidden due to content?"

Those falls are beautiful, However I am more impressed with the No Kids for a week. WOW I could use one of those.

not sure what is two steps behind the sign but I am guessing it will make you wet?

No it is that damn "Nude" category being right next to the "Nature" category. Sorry, I fixed it.

Offhand Rex, I would guess a bench to sit on while listening to the falls? Probably not...since you wouldn't ask us to guess when it was written right on the plaque. Even written in Braille for those that cannot see but might like to sit and listen.

Ok... I give up! What is behind you?

Behind this sign

Is a:

Yeah a bench. I just thought it was funny they had to post a sign to let you know. This bench is about 1/2 mile away from the falls.

The sign is there for the braille instructions for blind people who, you know, can't see the bench even if they turn around. The English is there 'cause the government doesn't want you to think they're passing secret messages to blind people ...

But how would the blind person know the sign is there to tell them there's a bench? If they can't see the bench, they can't see the sign either. And if they're with somebody who is leading them around on the trail, that person could just tell them there's a bench.

I thought that may have been it, but wasn't sure and thought maybe I was missing something. . . .:)

Well, ya know, the falls have no clothing. For that matter, there might be nekkid fish in there! Maybe even nekkid frogs! Quick, hide the kids!

Ah, north Georgia. I spent lots of happy time up there growing up in Atlanta. Helen was always fun, if a bit ... overdone in its imitation of an Alpine village. Used to rockclimb at Mt. Yonah, visited Amicalola Falls, camped all over that area, climbed drove up Brasstown Bald.
