not to be an ass...but thats pretty risky to say in an online forum...

Why would it be risky to say that you want to buy some licenses?

What are you planning to do with them? Is Linux an option?

the XP licenses are getting harder and harder to find with M$ pushing vista so much, try smaller local puter shops and ask for OEM licenses of XP pro or media center as to get them legitimately all you need to do is buy an internal PC component to get the license like for instance a floppy drive cable or sata cable or if you need a new hard drive doesn't matter...

*edit didnt realise M$ changed the EULA, not a good idea anymore. sorry*

edit: sorry i was wrong, i thought you were trying to take it a different route...my bad....

I looked at that option also, look at this Microsoft Blog, I am not sure how much valid this one is but it talks about that also.

What kind of business, and what do you need to be able to do on these computers?

You should use Microsoft's "open license" volume licensing if it's for business. You'll save money, and five is the minimum number of licenses of any products you need to buy.

I have no choice, software and everything is for windows only. By the way entire setup is for Nikon's product distributor.

wow, I didn't hear about that, guess that rules that idea out.

If you bought 10 puters didn't they come with an OS?

Or you mite be able to get a bulk licence deal from MS...

I spoke to the MS sales guy and he said "I could go and buy an OEM license if I am a system builder or software installer" otherwise no :) I said I am a software installer and would like to buy licenses, he ask me to contact there OEM partners. I would give them a call and find out what they say.
