We use Hill and Usher out of California. We get up to $50,000 worth of coverage for $1,000 a year. What is importamt to us is that is 'all risk' in 'all countries'. So whatever happens, whereever we are traveling - it is covered with a $500 deductible per indcindent. Since we travel to a lot of third world countirs this is important to us. Allows us to travel with less worry.
And covers traveling to shoots. Homeowners did not cut it for us. We just have to update the list of cameras and lenses with serial numbers and value and send it to them when it changes. My wife has all of her video equipment and I have all my camera gear and lenses, plus we have our editing computers and laptops including all the little accesories.

With State Farm, I'm covered for replacement value on my camera equipment as part of my normal home owners insurance. I forget how much I'm covered for but it was way over the $20K worth of equipment I have. Of course I've never had to file a claim with them yet and I hope I never do. I did have to file a claim on $8k worth of computer equipment in the early 90's when we got zapped by a power surge and other than having someone come out and look at the equipment they paid the full replacement amount and our rates didn't even go up. State Farm here in the Northwest is pretty good. Some others aren't.
