Yes, I'd been looking at a fast normalish prime for quite some time now... had it down to the Pentax FA 35 2.0 and the FA 43 1.9 Limited, and in all honesty, the 35 is probably a more useful focal length for me, but my camera store had the 43 in stock (at an excellent price). LBA struck hard and fast, and I am now the owner of a sleek, sexy, black Pentax FA 43 1.9 Limited!
I played around with it a bit last night, shooting entirely at max ap, and I have to say I was pleasantly suprised. Id heard reports that it wasnt so hot wide open, needing 2.8 to move into katana-sharp territory...but it seemed plenty sharp to me, certainly a big step up from my old 50 1.7.
Now, If it would stop raining... I need to get outside and see what this bad boy can do at f/4... (where it delivered the highest resolution ever in a photozone.de lens test!)
