If you leave your signing up for one more year until one week after the expiration date, then you get one extra week in the next year. Really.

Frisca, you gotta be careful. You'd be amazed at how quickly people will quote you. :)

Oh, no, no, I was just being silly again.

I meant, if your account lapses, then if you sign up a week later, your renewed membership starts then and since it's a week later you get an extra week. Just one of those dumb things that come so easy to say (to me) and end up confusing everything. Sorry about that.

:)

Actually, they do and they don't exist.

When you cease to be a member, they are not visible. However, they are not erased or anything.

When/If you resign up, they reactivate. Technically, I think it is for a certain amount of time, but for now, that is not an issue. If it ever became a storage issue or something, it might.

So, it does and doesn't exist.

...kind of like Schröedinger's cat.

Damn, Terry, you're so knowledgeable and so...so...erudite...

And you once studied under Ansel Adams, right? Or worked with one of his students, or something?

Any other major cultural achievements you care to share, Robert? :)

My favorite quantum physics story is that a friend of mine sat in a bar one night and said he wasn't leaving until his beer jumped from one mug to another.

I actually worked for/with Ansel, to be precise. As for the cat, it had been owned by a Leopold Schroedinger and when his wife died he had to move and I offered to take the cat :-) It was a lovely cat, BTW.

Where is your friend now?

He is in the state between beer and not-beer, and likely to remain there until someone opens the box.
