I was using .NET2005 Visual Studio, but I switched to a provide with php only. Man, php is a pita to troubleshooot. Are there pre-compilers around for php so I can at least get an error without killing the site? |
ZDE baby. When used with the server-side debugger, you can debug scripts from the server. It's indispensible if working with even marginally sophisticated PHP applications. |

| I used to screw around and make my own website(s) but now I don't have the time to mess with things myself so I put it in bludomain's hands. They give you flexibiliy and a very good user interface but all the techy bits are taken care of. If I have a photography gallery on my site I'd rather focus on the actual photography and leave everything else simple |

| This site also seems to have some nice Flash templates specifically for photography sites. I've been thinking of trying them out. |

Textpad, with bunch of clib libraries for CSS & html! (its free)

I used phpNUKE and Gallery for mine. Just updated phpNuke and my title disappeared, but gonna fix that soon.

I built mine from scratch using PHP (and a bit of JavaScript). Needs a bit of work to support browsers other than IE.

My wife specifically wanted a horizontal scrollbar across the page. Couldn't find one anywhere on the web so I decidided to write my own. You are welcome to the code (but please give me some time to polish it).

Same here... except my blog, which is wordpress powered, but I adjusted the CSS for it to match the rest of the site. Of course, mine certainly isn't very pretty....
I'm trying to learn PHP in spurts, but finding it a pain in the tushy since it looks like I might need a server or a virtual server. :/

Wrote my own CMS (I'm a geek) in PHP.
It works really well for me, but now regretting that, as I want to add some stuff, but have to code it by hand. Might switch to Joomla or wordpress sometime this year, but would have 2000+ photos to move. Hmmm, painful.

Most of mine is all in Macromedia Flash 8. I bought the template. The rest is good old Notepad! :)

| if you have developer kind of nature then Eclipse with PHP plug-in would be the best option. You can use the same editor for any kind of development including Java, J2EE, C, C++ etc. At the same time you can run apache server with-in eclipse and debug the code. It̢۪s an open source project and free with tons of plug-in. |

Dustin - yours is running SlideshowPro like mine. Hope they didn't charge you very much for that. It's still using the default settings.

If you didn't pay anything, fine. Just didn't want to see you taken advantage of. I have met several people who have paid for custom sites to be created only to find they are carbon copies of other ones that already exist. Forget I commented. Only looking out for others.
