There is a computer at work (Win2K SP4) that when you hit ALT + Space allprograms Minimize and Disapear from the task bar. New programs can be opened up and show on the taskbar when you hit ALT + Space everything comes back.
What does this? The only thing i can think of is XP has a power toy for multiple desktops but this is Windows 2000 SP4.
I discovered it by accident none of the others do it. |

I could write a program todo it but id like to figure out what one exists already whatever it is its install isnt obvious or listed and The process is probably started up as a system process so it wont be eneded by end task. |

I don't know the specific program, but you are looking for a "boss-hide" utility, something like these
I didn't go through the list to see if any met your specific requirement, but hopefully, that will give you a start. |

It's not Alt+Space, It's Win+M, or Win+D.

That shortcut only minimizes. If they are also disappearing from the taskbar, there must be some add-in that is enabling this behavior. I've never heard of that shortcut. Perhaps someone will enlighten us! |

Im gonna ask the guy who uses the pc he has been using that pc for a year, but ive never seen everything gone he always has 10 or more windows up I have a feeling it was someone from before us. There is code to manipulate the taskbar in such ways but ive never seen it used.
I talk with the IT guy daily, Id like to avoid asking him lol because well you know. |

Because its his job to get rid of that sort of stuff, at the same time we all do something against policy now and then. |

Check out this link. If he's the guy you're supposed to be hiding stuff from, he probably put it on the computer so he can hide his stuff from his boss :)

Thanks not sure its the same thing but its close and it exists and ill test it out at work.
Its one computer out of an entire dealership in a department he is never in. I haven't even seen his machine lol. Parts department is the only one with unrestricted machines anyways we all run Win2K and Fords usual parts department software were not on the domain. The rest of the dealer runs Windows XP with pc's attached to the domain and their locked up so tight you cant even change the time on them.
I doubt the IT guy has anything todo with it, i figured as a last resort he would know. I was typing a message when i accidently hit the space bar and hit alt at the same time.... im LIKE NOOOOOOO My post. and im like wait a minute where did everything else go. SO i started mashing keys till i figured it out.
