Help identifying an artists photo

This may be a stretch.. I picked up a photo today at a flea market and i'm trying to identify the photoghrapher. it is framed, signed, numbered, and dated. The number is either 18 or 182. The date is 1982. The name starts with an S then just has straight lines for the rest of the signature. The photo is of two african americans (I presume), one of which is seated to the left playing a violin and the other seated behind and to the right playing the bass. It is in black and white. The lighting and quality are very impressive and I love the feel it creates.

The only leads I can find point to seydou keita. I know nothing about photographers though. I would be pleasantly surprised if it turns out to be his work. Either way, to me it is well worth the $2 I paid for it. I apologize for not having a photo of it. I'm on my iPhone and don't know how to attach files. Thanks to anyone who can help!!!

well I didn't see anything like what you describe but maybe you can contact this person to see if they recognize it...worth a shot maybe. Good luck

At the moment I don't have access to be able to do that. I will need to take the photo this afternoon and then bring the photo to work with me to upload it. I'll do that and see if anyone recognizes it.

Is the signature on the reverse side? I believe that most of S.K.'s work was signed on the reverse side.

Your description of the photo sounds very like his work though.

The photo was signed on the border on the front of the photo. I wanted to revive this thread now that I finally have a photo I can show. It was taken with my cameraphone through the glass on the frame, so you can see my reflection, but it gives you an idea. Thanks!!
