I have a large empty wall in my basement that I am going to make into a photo wall and I am trying to come up with ideas on how to set up the display... anyone here have any pictures of their photo wall they could post?

A friend of mine has some old window shutters (tall ones) spread out on a wall with 8x10's hung all over it. She uses the table stand type frames so the "kick stand" can just go between the louvers of the shutters.

This is a solid idea. I have always liked the look of a full wall of different sized frames.

I want to create a wall in the livingroom with b/w prints (film - hasselblad) with beautiful frames, from the 2nd-hand-shop and flea-markets.

but I have nothing yet..

skip posted an image in a forum some time ago that showed many of his photos on display in his home (filled a wall). You may want to give him a shout for some ideas.

BTW - I believe he's also done the entire wall in a local restaurant.

Some of my images are just matted with velcro on each corner. They were show entries. So I have a wall that is covered with a large underlay mat. You can get them quite cheap from uplholsterers. Throughout the year I can change my images as much as I like as they just stick straight onto this mat. I have it hanging from the ceiling right to the floor..but at present I have a large display cupboard covering the bottom half...so the top half gets changed around quite a bit.

Sounds weird but is very practical. When people walk into the house it is the first thing they go to...quite a talking point.

I have more of a photo room than a photo wall. This is my office and its the first room you see when you enter my house, its also where I meet with clients. The pictures change fairly often as I have new favorites.

Don't let her fool you. There is a huge 30x40 print directly in front of the computer. She just didn't shoot that wall. :-)

I just have three on my feature wall, in our open plan living room.....
I plan to add more, re a collection of my "Agave", of differant sizes one day.....

Got a lot of deep purple feature walls in our house. This photo was taken a couple of months after we moved in. My "gallery" is upstairs on the purple walls that surround the stairs. My husband very kindly installed small little spotlights which add a really nice touch to the gallery. My walls are now much fuller with photos.

I will be watching this thread, I don't have a wall yet, but the new place I am moving to is a loft with beautiful huge wall next to the stairs that will have all the pictures I can possibly imagine! Also my front wall is perfect for huge prints!

I don't have a full photo wall per se, but I have a couple places in the house where I have a bunch of photos on a wall, or on a shelf.

We made an effort to make sure that each area of photos follows a theme. On our stairway, we have JUST shots from cruises (my favorite wall!), including a sub-area of just exterior shots of each ship we've been on.

I have another area of just shots of my daughter... a small area of just goofy shots of her... a tri-fold frame of scenic vacation spots... and some of my Steelers shots in the basement.

I just think it's fun to keep a theme going for each area like that.

This is one whale of a good idea. I'm so glad you posted it and I intend to copy at least part of it shamelessly!

no pics of it, but i have a cable running along my study wall and i hang whatever images i like at the time on it using wooden pegs.
doesnt cost anything to change and i rotate them all the time, kinda looks like they are hanging in a darkroom.
