Yes, she did; âI was sitting around bored today, this is what I came up withâ. So, you feel that attempting to gain admiration through fraud and theft is okay? |

Well, some folks went too far, but that's on their shoulders.
If this thread was not created, Tim and Rebecca wouldn't have found their ripped off images.
I agree, some amount of compassion is good. As a bystander, I (one) has no room to take any negative action against the thief; but I (one) can take positive action to help those who deserve proper credit. |

Theft is theft regardless of your intentions. If you walk out of the store with an item in which you did not pay for your held accountable for it if caught. Thus she was caught.. |

sorry for shouting, but i wanted to get your attention ;-)
please, please, when you suspect image theft, refer to this thread.
yes, i am working on part 2, but, in the mean time, part 1 should give you a start.
believe me, you are doing no one--the original photographer, yourself, dpc, or anyone else--any favors by blasting off on someone, even if they are totally misrepresenting themselves. when you over-react, you risk doing far more damage than they.
one thing i would recommend to anyone feeling 'ripped off' would be to either put in an admin ticket requesting help or to PM a handful of people you can trust, rather than posting in the forums. why? because the standard mob behavior in the forums, however well-intentioned, seems to do nothing but invite village burning...
so, on the count of 3, lets all take a deep, deep breath and take a good pause before we start flaming out the borrowers. |
Great advice. Maybe a bot can be created so that anybody that starts a thread about image theft your link gets posted immediately inthe thread.
It always amazes me when someone is accused of wrongdoing that some people feel it gives them carte blanche to do wrong also. |

FYI, this was posted on the Webshots thread:
"My name if J. Mozingo and I am Faye Mozingo's husband. I see that some of Faye's real friend have concerns and wants to know what has happen. My wife has been in and out the hospital for over six months. With all the stress that I have had, I left this site up to one our love ones ( daughter ). She was suppose to let the staff of Webshots know and get approval for this. Now we know that she did not. Some of the messages below are very vivid and slanderous. Faye wil be getting out of the hospital again on 7/16/07 and I am sure that she will contact her real friends. While she was in four different hosiptals she would visit the gardens, hospital rooms and use her camera because her docotor said this was good for her. I was at church this morning when I found out about this situation and needless to say I was very upset. I will be taking her laptop to her tonight. If she does not contact some of you tonight I am sure she will tommorrow. There is one thing I have to sya to people that make some of the negative remarks that have been made on her site, Walk a Mile in her Shoes before being so critical of her."
I responded, but I believe it was appropriately measured:
"And the other sites as well, where photos are being sold without the permission of the copyright holders? Are those going to be fixed too? Someone attached to this account has stolen, whether it's Faye or someone else, and you need to do something to correct the situation. If it is your daughter who committed the theft, then she needs to be taught the seriousness of violating copyright laws. If it was your wife, she needs to realize that being sick is not an excuse for theft. If this is not her husband at all but an attempt at generating undue sympathy, then shame on you. There are a lot of deservedly upset photographers who deserved better than for their hard work to be stolen. Whatever the truth is, the wrongs done must now be fixed."
I'm not sure what to believe, honestly, but the "poor me don't judge me" post struck me the wrong way, especially since it didn't even address the image theft at all while trying to fob the blame off on a daughter as though it makes it all okay. Grr.

Interesting, this is the 3rd time in the last couple of years that an 'image thief' has been caught, and either stated or implied that it was a daughter with access to the account that did it. hmmmm. (well, one might have been a son)
anyone remember those threads? |

How do you get a site to take down images that are stolen? I've written to the site in question twice now, and to the person who posted the image, but haven't had any answers, and the image is still there. |

I heard that the guys wife died, and since you and her have the same last name, he is going to send you a moneyorder for $100,000usd, but you need to cash it, and then send half back to him. He also has some realestate in brooklyn, a bridge I believe, that he is also willing to let go for a song. |

The PhotoSite folks should have received my infringement notice by now, but I see that they're not accepting new registrations so I wonder how closely the site owners are paying attention these days. I've left removal requests in her messages at Webshots and on her PhotoSite guestbook, but can't leave a comment on my photo directly since I'm not a member - and since they're not accepting new members, I'm S.O.L. there. I haven't found anywhere to contact Faye Mozingo directly. Does anyone have any other ideas?
Edited for typo.
