Im willing to bet that most of her images are stolen..... :(
07/13/2007 03:25:57 PM · #27
I left my message under her regular messageboard rather than on the album, so that it would still be there for all to see after the album was gone ;)

You'd think she might at least change the title: 'Caught in Prayer'

Gotta love her profile page over there:

It seems like this one is familiar..... Blue Smoke

?????

Hmm... She uses her real name, and has portfolios all over the Internet. She takes a lot of pictures of flowers and water droplets, some insects, and some smoke. You may want to check these galleries:

care2.com drops
Care2.com Flowers
digitalart.org - only 3 images
MillionMasterpiece.com Gallery appears empty
ephotozine.com - only 2 images
Daily Awards.com - full list (no thumbnails) here
treknature - no photos
photosite.com - some flowers, droplets, insects, smoke

I don't mean to be rude or mean, but a substance abuse counselor will tell you that someone who has dabbled in something once, is likely to have done it more than once. ;)

Hmm...
//fmozingo.photosite.com/Album1/

I'll have to deal with this later. Flattering that she used it as the album cover, though.

Looks like my shot is down.

I don't know how you could go about it, but it seems that many of these sites allow prints to be sold. If you could check, it may be worth it to see if you have 'lost income' in this debacle.

also, SC is aware, now, that this is a dpc user. doesn't make us happy campers. >:(

It appears Faye is not the "sharpest lens in the camera bag". She has also posted her location on Frapper Maps. Pretty easy to Google her phone and physical address from that info.

Yeah. I just got a message from webspots that they were deleting my 12 shots from the page. Now it seems the whole album's been deleted.
They reacted really quickly. Good job.

Just so you know, they probably have no choice but to react quickly; it's what the law requires (in the U.S., it's called the "Digital Millennium Copyright Act"). If they don't, they could be held liable (if they act quickly, only the person who used the images without permission and without attribution would be in trouble).

Nice show of support here, everyone, it's nice to see.

Best,

Hey, if you're interested in this thread, you may want to check out my website suggestion here:

A small step toward image protection on DPC.

FWIW, PhotoSite doesn't appear to have a by-email protocol for contesting copyright. They do have a form to print out and mail, but also require sufficient statements/evidence from the artist. The version fmozingo postes was the adv. edit of a challenge entry for which I posted steps, alternate versions, and outtakes, so I've printed those pages out and enclosed them. I even went so far as to have my signature notarized so they can't say I didn't prove that I am who I say I am (working in a bank makes that easy). Anyway, it looks like killing them with information overload is the only way to go since it looks like it has to be done by snail mail. Grr.

This one of tangerines or oranges dropped in water looks familiar
07/13/2007 05:17:11 PM · #46
IMO, it sounds like we might need to do something on this site in order to protect the images.

This has been an ongoing problem and needs to stop

the reality is that people are going to continue doing this and we wont even know.

maybe a new thread to pool in ideas.

I agree - feel free to use my thread, 3 posts above.

I have another idea...

Watermarking is the solution and has been suggested many times.

She just deleted all of the messages people posted about her stealing photos. They were there minutes ago and now they are gone.
