I just ordered the Canon EF 180mm f3.5L Macro. I did it because I recently purchased the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS and Its amazing!

I never thought I'd be willing to spend that kind of cash on a lens.

Now I want this one Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM AutoFocus Wide Angle. I NEED THIS LENS!! YOU CANT STOP ME!!!

38mm isn't very wide.

crack is probably cheaper, anyways...

and i was going to say something like on an xti, 24mm is 38mm which isnt really a great focal length to start a zoom at... but, i see that SouthCoastOr3gon has the 10-22 already, so the 24 will fill a pretty big gap in his lineup. spend away! you know you want to...

That some great rationalizations, and justifications. The reviews I have read say the 10-22 shoots as good as the ultra wide angle L-series.

I live too far away from any camera shops to test it out for myself.

I think with th Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM AutoFocus Wide Angle lens my L-crack habit will be complete.

You appear to be going for a similar lens set up to me. The 10-22 is superb (just check what Bear_Music does with his). I love my 24-105, but do sometimes wish I had gone for the faster 24-70. I now have the 100m macro so similar there. The 100-400 is next on my shopping list (for sometime next year) so it is great to hear good feedback.

If you have to choose between the 24-105 and the 10-22 then go for the 24-105 - it covers 80% of my shooting scenarios.

Not sure..how is your crack habit coming along?

I had the 10-22 with my 20D and I actually really miss it (sold it with my 20D when I bought my 5D), n absolutly superb lens.

I have to have that 10-22mm ... mine, mine! next on my shopping list!

I just bought the 70-200mm 2.8 IS L series lens and I have got to tell you that is like living in a dream when shooting with this lens. I like so many others am now also hooked on L glass.

I think my next purchase will be the 1.4x tele converter, then the 10-22mm. I am trying to hold out a bit on the 10-22mm because I have heard rumors of canon releasing one with a 2.8 apreture in October at photokina, hopefully its not way out of the realm of possibility. I guess I will sit back and see.

Rich

Edit for Sigma comment, as I couldnt find info to back it up.

Couldnt find the information to back up my mouth, I have seen it somewheres and I will continue to look, but for now I will correct my statement as not to mislead anyone until I have crediable data.

I agree that 24mm is not wide on a crop-sensor. When I had the 24-105 on the 300D I really missed the 17-24mm portion of the 17-40mm I had sold to buy it.

If you want wide, I'd go with the 17-40 which is cheaper anyway. If you want walkaround, the 24-105 is excellent.

My red rings arrived today. They are so sleek, and sexy!

My wife got the packing slip :/ She is irate!! I'm gonna sleep on the couch tonight!

There would be a similar reaction if I was caught smoking crack. There are some similarities between crack and L-glass.

I'll have to buy her something expensive to calm her down.

I cant wait to shoot tomorrow!!!

Congrats on your addiction. Now you just have to buy her some nice glass to go on her finger, ears, or neck. That should keep her quiet, for a little while anyways. ;-) Nice macro of the bird's eye btw.

It'll never be complete and you know it too. You know you want a 500mm f/4L IS... I just got my first L and I want another already. 17-40mm f/4L is the leader right now with a potential of dumping the 70-200mm f/4L and upgrading to the f/2.8L (non-IS since I can't afford $1700).

I know I am...

...must...resist...temptation...bank account would not be happy.
The new "40D" looks very tempting too but I think the 350D is going to be good for a while.

Crack? Bah. The real question is, is it more addictive than Facebook?
