To the Critique Club,
This last week has been a tense one for me as I waited to read all of your critiques on my Photo "Between Rides". Thank you all for being so frank and for overall being very kind. I also made a personal evaluation of the picture and sent it along with some insight on how it was taken to John Setzler. I did this in hopes that it might be of some value to him and all of you that took the time to write so many very wonderful comments on my work.
I am however confused or at least disappointed in the immediate outcome of the test, Critique Club Phase II. Can somebody explain to me why there has not been any particular interest stirred in the rest of the participants at this site. There have been no comments on your work or contribution of your time to help make this site better.
When a group of interested individuals volunteer their time and combined experience to write an in depth evaluation of a picture, (any picture) I would hope that others would let them know what they think of their efforts.
Your up coming weekly in depth critiques are going to be an example of your interest in photography and your endeavor to help others, I hope it does not go unappreciated. I for one feel that you have went above and beyond the expectations of just participants and a round of applause should be heard/printed or read for you.
Thank you John for getting this started and thanks to all of you that have volunteered to assist in the critiques, and good luck.

I've been tossing an occasional comment or suggestion, but I think site members in general may be looking at the thread as a CC "internal communicaton" instead of public forum. Perhaps we should have a thread explicitly for each purpose. |

Exactly General! I just read about the `Critque Club phase 2` last night for the first time and was not aware of its formation. I didn`t feel that I was invited to the party. However I thought the learning potential from the thread was tremendous. What a great way to learn HOW to critique a pic. And it may even help us post better comments when voting!
I assume the `Critique Club` will be a select group that will evaluate the weekly winners in the new DPC? However I know better then to assume... :)

Hi Clicker, Oh please don't feel that you weren't invited. This was posted on the forums and all were invited to participated. No one was actually picked or selected to be a part of the Critique Club. You are absoulutely correct that
"the learning potential from the thread was tremendous. What a great way to learn HOW to critique a pic. And it may even help us post better comments when voting!"
I've already noticed an improvement in the critiques. Keep up the good work everyone. We can ALL benefit from this project!

Thanks Gracious!
Actually "feeling like I wasn`t invited" was just a phrase in jest. I spend a lot of time reading the forums and somehow just missed the part about the CC forming. I think the CC will be a great addition to a site that already has everything for those that want to play and learn! What a great place this is!!!
