Most anal feature request ever - looks like lenses currently get listed in order of increasing focal length. However this only works within a single brand. Would be nice if the order was maintained across different manufacturers.

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro for Canon <--- damn it!
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM

Actually, they're listed alphabetically. My longest lens is listed first.

You're list just happens to be in focal length order.

Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
Canon EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF 70-210mm f/4.0
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM

Maybe add an option to put them in the order you want.

Mine don't appear to be listed alphabetically:

Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di for Canon (listed as primary)
Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4.0 AT-X 124AF Pro DX
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro
Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Macro
Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM
Peleng 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye MC In M42 Mount

They are listed alphabetically, but not the way you think.

The manufacturer and the lens name are two separate fields.

This means that when you see "Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM," for example, there are actually two pieces of data being displayed -- the manufacturer (Canon) and the lens name (EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM ).

The lenses are sorted alphabetically by lens name -- which usually has the effect of sorting by focal length within a given line of lenses, since the focal length is usually the first text to vary. Note that whichever lens you have selected at your default always appears first.

We don't store the focal length in the database in any kind of meaningful way (it's part of the lens description, which is just a text field), so implementing this suggestion would require manually touching all 1,463 records in the lens database. It is technically possible, but there are probably better uses for our time. :)
