Has anyone used mypublisher.com for bound photo books (actually looking at the mixed photo-text style). Good? Bad? How was the quality? Other places you prefer over mypublisher? |

My publisher offers leather bound photo books. I didn't notice that on Blurb's site. |

I ordered a book from Blurb last year and was not impresssed with the print quality at all. I won't be ordering another one. The price was good, the dust cover is nice, and added to the book, but the print quality was really substandard in my opinion.
I know MPIX offers one now with linen paper that I would like to try but I don't like their sizing options. I want one that 12X12 or something. I saw Shutterfly has a 12x14.

Sony ImageStation is having a sale on their linen books right now, $5 off and free shipping. I haven't ordered any, but their print quality is excellent.

I like photoworks. Have used them about 10 times. They leave a page at the end of the book with their logo... I find a sharp razor knife will take that page right out of there and leave no evidence. :)

I have used MPIX on two occasions and the books are awesome. The linen pages are very cool... |

MyPub books are fairly nice; all of my clients who have ordered them have really liked them. If I need to go cheap - I use them.
For my more high-end stuff, I've used AsukaBooks. They are beautiful. My last client that got a set of 2 Asuka albums has just ordered 3 more sets for the families because everyone loves them so much.
Asuka has at least one drawback in my opinion - most notably that albums can only be ordered in 40, 60 or 80 pages, EXACTLY. What a huge PITA that was - designing the albums for exactly that number of pages. |
