I had a very bad night last night. Family problems, nothing to do with my camera. I left home this morning, stuck my camera in my laundry basket, and completely forgot about it. It has been hotter than blue blazes today, and my baby (the camera, not a person) was in my car all day! Will it be okay? I don't do stuff like that to it regularly at all. I'm usually very careful about taking it out of my car as soon as I get where I'm going. I've even arranged to have it baby-sat! Seriously, I'm going straight from work to see Harry Potter tomorrow. I can't take the camera in the theater. It's too hot for it to stay in the car. So, I arranged for the owner of the camera shop where I buy my stuff to baby sit it for a few hours.

I'm sure it will be fine.

It should be fine. You wouldn't want to store it regularly under those conditions, but one day almost certainly will not cause problems -- especially since it was powered off.

So exposing cameras to extreme conditions actually improves their performance? That's very counter-intuitive.

FYI - "boot" means "trunk" in American.

George Bernard Shaw once said, "Britian and America are devided by a common language."

(Australia, too!)

I feel better - about the camera anyway.
