In hindsight, it isn't really a direct message that the fotos are conveying, but more of my desire to make others appreciate things that I appreciate - colors, patterns, organization of objects in a composition; major elements that immediately strike you when you see a foto. Of course, people can leave them or love them, though I'd be happier if I'm made aware that I'm not alone in liking what I think is beautiful. Maybe it is one form of self-validation for a personal sense of aesthetics. Photography, after all, is not my 'real' line of work.

To a great extent.
Do we ask ourselves what kind of public we target with our photos?
Not in my case. I have no foto that will polarize people into opposing camps a la Maplethorpe (big haha)! Because of the 'benign' nature of what I find interesting to capture in foto, there really is no need to pre-screen my work to adapt them to the culture of the public.
Similar to us or different from us?
Not a concern.
Do we have an idea of how common (or uncommon) our targeted stereotype is (scoring concerned issue..)?
If I get your question correctly, yes, after 5 challenges. I think I have an idea of the stereotypical 'good' picture that the community here appreciates. The crowd (and that includes me) favor technical aptitude above other aspects. This does not mean that symbolic depth of fotos is disregarded; that too is considered, but not prioritized.
