Sorry for the slowness on my part... I just today got the specs to Langdon for the report I need... once I have it, we'll start choosing a winner.

Work's been crazy so I apologize for the delay.

The winner of Comments For a Cure has been decided!

First, I want to thank everyone who participated and commented during this contest! We saw unprecedented levels of commenting and Critique Club activity during the contest. In addition to the free membership, the comment recipients learned a lot, and the commenters learned a lot, so in a very real sense, everyone gained something from the experience.

THE WINNING COMMENT:

Sacrifice by graphicfunk

Comment on May. 31st, 2007 by dtremain: The monochrome, combined with excellent highlights and contrast makes this an exceptional shot. For example, the white highlight on the near edge of the hammer saves that part of the shot from being too dark. The dirty hands on the hammer and nail vs. the clean hand. Even the wood of the cross looks metallic in this lighting.

Congratulations to dtremain on the win!

Also, a quick, shameless, plug.

I just want to remind everyone that in addition to this being a way to motivate people to comment, I also ran this contest in part to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. For those of you not familiar with the disease, having multiple sclerosis means that you may suddenly have blurry vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. Or that you may not always be able to walk around the house, let alone for miles on end. The symptoms of MS are different, and devastating, for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

I've registered for the 2 day, 50K MS Challenge Walk because I want to do something for the people who have been diagnosed - and because I want to do everything to prevent more people from learning what it means to live with this disease. Today, there is no cure for multiple sclerosis, and with diagnosis occurring most frequently between the ages of 20 and 50, many individuals face a lifetime filled with unpredictability.

If you would like to help in my effort to find a cure -- and to help those living with MS today -- please make a donation today, and help spread the word. Together, we will find a cure.

Thanks again for your support,
~Terry

There are a lot of people here who are generous with their time to help others. ClubJuggle is one of them. So keep up the good work, Terry.

And congratulations to dtremain for his win. It was a great contest and everyone who participated was a winner. That's the right way to run a contest.

Edited to get those user names working the way they were designed to work.

Wow! I'm rather new here, and did not even know you were having the contest! Thank you.

MS is a great cause. Two of my three children have autism, so I know first-hand how important research funding is. ClubJuggle - thanks for your hard work and efforts to help those facing the severe challenges of MS.
