I'm sure that's true; but it takes all the fun out of making fun of them. |

Well, don't let me spoil the party.
I just pointed out their functionality. I never said they didn't look silly. Ask some of them when their den mother is coming back with the punch and cookies. |

Okay, that's it! I've had enough! I'm going to get a court order to prevent any more talk of heat waves, soaring temperatures, hotter than hot summer days! One month of summer is over already here in the UK and we've had nothing but rain, rain and more rain. I have the heating on tonight, for Pete's sake! I have to find a sunnier place to live!!!!! So depressed!!!!! |

I have it on good authority that summer weather will prevail at the end of September and beginning of October in the UK (maybe only Scotland). 'Cause that's when I'll be there so it's gotta happen. ;o) |

If it helps you out at all, everyone in California would trade weather with you. Some rain, any rain, would be very welcome. |

I will trade heatwave for our weather at the moment. We have grey skies and rain, yesterday it was rain and grey skies, tomorrow will be sunny with showers. It has rained for days and days. Flooding, hailstones, rain...but no sun. It is all the fault of Wimbledon and the tennis, once that finishes, we will have some sunny weather.
Good news though is that Saturday will be sunny, Tour de France starts in London on Saturday.
It is my birthday on Saturday, 07/07/07! Won't happen again for a 100 years. 07/07/2107. |

Just some trivia for the day.
Anyway, good luck staying cool over there. |
Yeh, and I think what they had left from WW2 I had issued to me when I was posted to the middle east in 1971!

Isn't that carrying this European unification business a bit too far?

First time the Tour has started in UK. It is one of my summer musts, and I shall be watching it, along with British Grand Prix qualifying and race on Sunday.
As to your invite? Was that for 07/07/07 or 07/07/2107? There could be a slight problem with the latter! But, you are welcome to gatecrash on Saturday, just bring the beers :)) |

I think we may have hit 81 one day this week, here in the mountains of NC. :)
We do need rain, though. |

Thankfully we have finally been getting rains almost everyday. Not sure how long they will be lasting, but we will take anything we get. Florida has been in drought (along with most of southeastern U.S.) for over a year. So, right now with storm clouds building and sun hiding, it is a steamy 82°F. About two weeks ago we did hit 100°!
Blackbox - our flag was up, just as it is everyday! We have lights on it for nighttime. The only time we don't have a flag up is when we are changing it out for a new one because of wear & tear.

Now that's Patriotism at it's best and glad to hear it. Congrats, you were the first one that mentioned anything about the flag! |
